THE BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL ST. JOHN'S CO-CATHEDRAL
14 February, 2018
A few minutes walk from Palais LeBrun, this gem places itself amongst the most magnificent Baroque churches in the world. It was built as the Conventual Church for the Knights of St.John.
The guilded vaults, painted ceilings, and lavish interiors reveal the sophistication of the Order. The Oratory houses magnificent paintings by Caravaggio and Mattia Preti, whilst the museum holds valuable collections of books and tapestries based on drawings by Rubens.
The artistry of the Co-Cathedral's marble floor is simply breathtaking. There are 405 tombs in-laid with painstaking precision!
